Mia Tarducci has found favor in Pittsburgh and beyond as her artwork has been exhibited in contemporary museums and galleries across the U.S. Recent notable achievements include being named the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Emerging Artist of the Year in 2014, and winning the Leon A. Arkus Award as part of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh’s 2016 Annual Exhibition at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

In “Chapters” Tarducci continues to write and rewrite her own expressive art biography as she explores surface, color, and technique. Many of her canvases are layered thick with paint, like words on a page, enticing the viewer to explore beyond the surface and create their own narrative, thus becoming part of the work itself. In other works she turns her attention to the act of mark making, either in a distilled form of simple marks, or employing her painterly style. The collective body produces a consonant exhibition, that like a favorite book, will have viewers turning to again and again.
