ARTIST RECEPTION JANUARY 10 (5-8PM)

We open the new year with new works from Sarah Jacobs. Inspired by the philosophy of Plotinus, and Carlo Rovelli's loop quantum theory, Jacobs renders deep skies, representing the world beyond us, paired with foreground imagery (birds, butterflies, etc.) rendered with greater detail. Far and near are combined in overlapping layers suggesting that although we are lone actors playing out our lives, we are part of a larger system which we can only partially understand from our limited vantage points – this series plays with the endless possibilities that offers.
