April 8 -23, 2016 • The Mine Factory
This exhibition included 26 works where Best explores what feels like an already infinite and somewhat terrifying subject, the cosmos, as he collides it with the world of an abstract painting. By doing this, it allows for the two realities to find balance and become a new, living environment.
Jesse Best is a contemporary American painter living and working in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His style reflects a material driven process with a focus on acrylic, spray paint, wood and resin. His blend of painterly brush work combined with a graphic sensibility has granted him a unique style and voice.
As an artist, he continues to seek out techniques and processes that reveal endless possibilities, with the hope is that the participant can view his work and question what they believe is reality, and eventually find comfort in that fact that we will never figure it all out.
In partnership with the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, The Pittsburgh Technology Council and the CREATE Festival recently announced Best as the 2016 CREATE Featured Artist of the Year. As such his work will be featured at the Three River’s Arts Festival, and gifted to the collections of Pittsburgh’s ten Creators-of-the-Year. Additionally, Best has been commissioned to create a public art installation for the Festival.
